The Story

God created humans as good and loving just as he is, but humans became sinful. We call this human nature, but it certainly was not God's desire. While God is all powerful, he also gave us the freedom to choose good or evil. But by ourselves, we do not have the strength to resist evil and are continually dragged back down by our sinful nature. Because of this, without further help from God, death is our one certainty.

But do not despair, there is good news. Since God loves us, he gave us his only Son, Jesus Christ to come and save us. While Jesus was conceived supernaturally, he was born as you and I. He lived a normal life, growing up from a child, experiencing all the same growing pains that a child of his time would, 2000 years ago. He lived as a perfect example for us, demonstrating in many ways how we should live. He also performed miracles to show us his supreme, holy heritage. But even though he could not sin himself, he took upon himself all of our sin, suffered and died on a cross in our place. He did not just die, but he conquered death and rose from the grave. He walked around earth after death, preaching and performing more miracles. Afterwards, he was taken by God back into Heaven and then sent the Holy Spirit back to his believers to provide a link to his power over evil. This is an example of his power over sin and the power that he can give you.

What do you need to do to defeat sin and gain eternal life? There are not enough good things that you can do to overcome your evil nature. You need only do one thing, just ask him for forgiveness and to lead you in your life. His offer is a free gift; you just need to accept it. The result is spiritual transformation by the Holy Spirit. Put your full trust in him and you will have the power to fight the evil of this world and will have a written guarantee, His Word, of a spiritual life forever after death.

This story can be summarized in one verse from the Bible:

John 3:16 - For God so loved the world [you] that he gave his one and only Son [Jesus Christ], that who ever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
